You can stream sensor data to MATLAB® in real-time with a WiFi or cellular connection or you can collect sensor data offline to a log for transferring when you have an available connection.
For instructions about setting up and using sensor data collection, see Getting Started with Sensors in MATLAB Mobile™ Settings or visit the MATLAB Support Package for Apple iOS Sensors documentation.
You must have a MathWorks® Account. If you do not have an account, you can set one up in MATLAB Mobile.
Connect to the MathWorks Cloud using the instructions in Connect to the MathWorks Cloud (MATLAB Mobile for iOS).
Streaming to the cloud has a one-hour maximum time limit.
On your computer, install the MATLAB Support Package for Apple iOS Sensors in MATLAB.
Connect to your computer using the instructions in Connect to Your Computer (MATLAB Mobile for iOS).
For logging sensor data when you do not have a WiFi or cellular connection, there are no special requirements.
To transfer the log files when you do have a connection, you must be able to connect to MATLAB Drive™. This requires a MathWorks Account. If you do not have an account, you can set one up in MATLAB Mobile.
Transferring log files between mobile device and your computer using a USB cable does not require a MathWorks Account.
Use the Sensors settings to manage sensor data collection on your device. To view the sensor settings, tap the current menu selection and then tap the settings icon to find Sensor Settings.
You can configure the following settings for sensor data collection:
Control from MATLAB — Enable this setting to control the sensors and logging of data from MATLAB. This setting is enabled, by default.
Send Position Data in Background — Enable this setting to allow the Position sensor to continue sending data to MATLAB or locally to log file while you are using other apps. This setting is disabled, by default.
Upload Folder — Specify the MATLAB Drive folder for uploading sensor data.
Auto Upload — Select one of the following:
Off — Transfer sensor data files manually.
WiFi — Sensor data files are uploaded automatically when a WiFi connection is detected.
WiFi and Cellular (devices with cellular access only) — Sensor data files are uploaded automatically when a WiFi or cellular connection is detected.
In addition, you can view Getting Started with Sensors for instructions about setting up sensor data collection.
