Accelerating the Pace of Two-Wheeler Electrification through System Modelling and Simulation – Presented by MathWorks & ICAT ASPIRE
Overview
The electric two-wheeler industry in India is growing exponentially and the OEMs along with their suppliers are working towards speedily bringing exciting new products to market with improved range, efficiency, and performance. However, building these new vehicles without compromising on safety aspects such as battery overheating, thermal runaway, unintended acceleration, or reversal requires robust system design and testing process. Model Based Design (MBD) approach can be a powerful enabler to overcome these challenges and bring in efficiency in development.
This 2-W EV webinar series will highlight the MBD approach and showcase how System Modelling & Simulation can be used to achieve safety, thermal, and range targets to deliver vehicle electrification on a scale while keeping on the constraints of cost, quality, and time. Starting with the selection & sizing of battery, motor, and power electronics components to designing associated software control algorithms in a rigorous manner for a range of operational scenarios, the series will cover the journey of designing your two-wheeler from prototyping to production.
Highlights
In this 3-part webinar series, you will learn how to:
- Translate Requirements to Vehicle Architecture: Translate and refine requirements into vehicle system architectures with components ready for simulation and implementation using Model-Based Design in Simulink®
- Vehicle Dynamics & Performance Analysis: Perform ride & handling analysis, ABS testing. Understand the impacts of component selection/sizing on vehicle range & efficiency.
- Battery System Design & Development: Build detailed battery cell and pack models along with cooling system, perform thermal analysis, develop battery management system (BMS) model, and implement it on embedded hardware
- Motor & Controller Design and Development: Build accurate motor model, interactively design, and implement motor control algorithms
