Written for graduate level students, Digital Signal Processing with Examples in MATLAB provides comprehensive coverage of digital signal processing (DSP). The book introduces the basic aspects of signal processing and presents the fundamentals of DSP. It also relates DSP to continuous signal processing, rather than treating DSP as an isolated subject, and offers many application examples. Basic topics include Discrete Fourier, Cosine, and Sine transforms, the sampling theorem, the z-transform in system analysis, FIR and IIR digital filter design, statistical signal processing and spectral estimation, and least-squares signal processing system design. In addition, several advanced topics include adaptive signal processing, entropy coding, multirate and subband coding, wavelet transforms, models of analog systems, and pattern recognition using support vector machines.
An introduction to MATLAB is included, and MATLAB is used to solve numerous examples in the book. In addition, a supplemental set of MATLAB code files is available for download, and slides (from the publisher) for instructors who adopt the book for a course.
