This error occurs when the license information can not be read properly or has been corrupted. Therefore, new license information must be generated.
You must be connected to the internet to generate new license information.
- Confirm your connection status
- Confirm any antivirus software and/or firewalls are disabled
- Restart MATLAB
If this does not resolve the issue, please follow these steps to remove your current licensing information file:
Windows
- Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard. This should open a small window called "Run".
- Enter the following text into the newly opened window: %APPDATA%\MathWorks\licensing\licenses
- Press Enter on your keyboard
- Delete the license information file found in this folder
macOS
- Open Finder
- In the top left corner of your screen, select "Go"
- Select "Go to Folder..."
- Type in ~/Library/Application Support/MathWorks/licensing/licenses/
- Press Enter/Return on your keyboard. This should navigate to the folder specified.
- Delete the license information file found in this folder
Linux
- Navigate to the hidden folder ~/.MathWorks/licensing/licenses
- Delete the license information file found in this folder
